5/17/24 Tylor Megill's Mets return set for series opener with Guardians. MIAMI — Tylor Megill was a winter sensation for Mets officials with his development of two highly regarded new pitches, but before he could really test them, discomfort in his shoulder emerged. That occurred during Megill's first start of the season, on March 31. At the time the right-hander thought he was facing a short stint on the injured list, but it's now been nearly seven weeks. 3 New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill Bill Kostroun/New York Post On Monday he will officially return to the Mets roster when he's activated to pitch the team's series opener in Cleveland. 5/16/24 Tylor Megill rejoins Mets after rehab, set to be activated prior to starting Sunday or Monday. New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill has rejoined the team after finishing his rehab from a right shoulder strain that he suffered in his first start of the season on March 31. Upon his return, Megill will likely replace in the rotation Joey Lucchesi, who was called up to start Wednesday's game in Philadelphia. After allowing just one run through the first four innings, everything fell apart for Lucchesi in the fifth, allowing four runs in the inning, with the only out he recorded coming on a runner trying to score on an extra-base hit. Assuming Lucchesi is the odd man out, the Mets starting rotation will consist of Luis Severino, Sean Manaea, Christian Scott, Jose Quintana and Megill.
