5/13/24 Orioles call up prospect Kyle Stowers, option Heston Kjerstad to Triple-A in outfielder swap. One outfield prospect goes down, another comes up. Kjerstad, who Baseball America ranks as the No. 36 prospect in the sport, barely played after his April promotion, receiving only 17 plate appearances across the 17 games he was on Baltimore's roster. Stowers, 26, is one of the best power hitters in Baltimore's farm system, as the left-handed slugger has smacked 11 homers in 36 games this season for Triple-A Norfolk.

4/16/24 The 'O'utcome You Hope For. The Baltimore Orioles' youth movement rollout has reached mode 'all systems go'. With the exception of Kyle Stowers and Heston Kjerstad, pretty much every prospect that made somebody go 'WOW' over the past few years is up in the majors and performing well. This week alone, you've seen Jordan Westburg and Colton Cowser jump to the front of the narrative, after everyone sort of assumed they'd be lower-tier forces this year. Westburg is a really handy guy to have around, he's flexible in terms of where you put him in the infield, and he can hit for average.

5/17/23 Kyle Stowers has examples to follow in the Orioles organization. The talented Tides should provide Baltimore significant reinforcements throughout the 162-game season. The depth represents a once foreign concept around these parts that the Orioles have welcomed with open arms. Kyle Stowers rejoined Norfolk this week after Baltimore recalled reliever Logan Gillaspie. Stowers managed only two hits in 30 at bats and often looked overmatched at the plate when given an opportunity.

5/13/23 After ‘humbling’ return to Triple-A, Kyle Stowers is searching for his role with Orioles. “I believe that when I go through a tough time I use it as a way to catapult and go forward rather than just thinking of it as a step back," said Orioles outfielder Kyle Stowers, who is back in Baltimore after being optioned to Triple-A in early April.

5/13/23 After 'humbling' return to Triple-A, Kyle Stowers is searching for his role with Orioles. Kyle Stowers wasn't surprised when he was sent down to Triple-A early in the season, but that didn't make the demotion sting any less. The Orioles outfielder entered the season with the opportunity to earn a larger role on an emerging team, one that has spent most of the season as the American League's second-best. Stowers was barely playing for the Orioles, totaling just six plate appearances in the club's first eight games. At just 25 years old, Baltimore wanted the outfield prospect to get consistent playing time in Norfolk rather than wasting away on the big league bench.

5/09/23 Colton Cowser could be this year's Adley Rutschman if the Orioles let him. In the power rankings immediately preceding Adley's arrival, the Orioles ranked 26th. To say that Adley's promotion to Baltimore revolutionized the team is perhaps an understatement. After making the Opening Day roster, Kyle Stowers has yo-yo'd between Baltimore and Norfolk as Mike Elis and Brandon Hyde see fit. Ryan O'Hearn and Joey Ortiz have each had their cups of coffee at the big league level, each putting up largely favorable results.

4/30/23 Sunday afternoon Orioles game thread: at Tigers, 1:40. Kyle Stowers is back. The outfielder has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk and placed right into the starting lineup, batting fourth. Perhaps the Orioles are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. Stowers homered three times on Friday and has, in general, looked quite good with the Tides (.293/.427/.569 in 17 games). And with the righty-heavy Royals on deck maybe he will actually get multiple opportunities in a row to play. Joey Ortiz was sent back to Norfolk to make room. The rookie played in all three of the games in Detroit this weekend, and he had driven in four runs. Not a bad debut at all! But for the same reasons that Stowers is likely to play in Kansas City, Ortiz was probably going

3/17/23 Orioles' left-handed bats hoping to continue forcing tough roster decision. Kyle Stowers is happy with how feels mentally and physically. The young Orioles outfielder is as “confident as I think I've ever felt.” “If I feel like I'm swinging at pitches with the intent I want to have on those pitches, and if I get out doing that or strike out, then so be it,” Stowers said. Each at-bat will be vital for Stowers over the next two weeks as the Orioles sort out the final spots on the offensive side of their roster.

3/15/23 Prospect News: American League East Opportunity Watch. Baltimore Orioles Kyle Stowers could open the season at DH after a 107 wRC+ in 34 major league games last season and a 130 wRC+ in 95 games at Triple-A. He might not be good enough to hold off the next wave of young Orioles, but there’s plenty of playing time on offer in 2023 if he performs. He’s hitting .269 with seven strikeouts, five walks, and zero home runs. That’s probably good enough for him to get the gig.  Now let’s talk about the next wave of young Orioles.

3/04/23 Orioles observations on a good game to watch (if you could), Tyler Wells on the clock and more. Even the altered version of Saturday's lineup brought a smile to Kyle Stowers' face. Although the Orioles scratched hot-hitting Terrin Vavra from their starting nine because of left shoulder discomfort, the top part of their lineup for a Grapefruit League exhibition against the Atlanta Braves still featured four other young players who have climbed through the system together in Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, Stowers and Jordan Westburg.

10/21/22 Orioles prospect season in review: Kyle Stowers. It seems Kyle Stowers can’t help getting overshadowed. The 24-year-old Californian with the blinding blond locks, a 2019 second-round pick out of Stanford with a prolific minor league career, wasn’t the most ballyhooed O’s prospect from his draft class to debut this year. Heck, he wasn’t even the second most.
