9/05/23 Minor League round up, weekend + Sept. 4: Ramos and Matos stay ready. Center fielder Bryce Johnson (No. 43 CPL) cleared waivers and was outrighted to AAA Sacramento. Since Johnson had been outrighted last offseason, he had the opportunity to refuse the assignment and become a Minor League free agent, but he chose to stick with the only organization he's known. AAA Sacramento RHP Matt Frisbee was transferred to the Development List, which presumably will end his season. AA Richmond infielder Jimmy Glowenke was named the Eastern League Player of the Week, after a staggering 1.509 OPS for the week.

7/19/23 Watch: Dodgers Prospect Devin Mann Hits Home Run On Fly Ball That's Caught. Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Devin Mann was credited with his 14th home run of the season earlier this week despite his fly ball initially being caught. In the fourth inning of the series finale against the Sacramento River Cats, Mann drove a pitch to deep right-center field that was hauled in by Bryce Johnson. Despite Johnson taking a handful of steps after making the catch, umpires gave Mann a home run because of the ball coming loose.

4/11/23 Digging into SF Giants' strikeout issues, and what they're doing to address them. The Giants were in a hole Monday night, down to the Dodgers late in their series opener. Bryce Johnson went down swinging on a high heater. Thairo Estrada watched strike three paint the inside corner. Wilmer Flores managed to put the ball in play, but with two outs already, his fly ball to right only served as the third out of the inning.

3/31/23 Community Prospect List No. 44. It's time for the final chapter of the Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List. One name needs to be added, and then we'll have our complete rankings of the top 44 prospects in the San Francisco Giants organization. The penultimate name on the list is far and away the most surprising name, which is to say someone who probably wouldn't have been on anyone's list of the Giants top 44 prospects when we started this exercise in December. It's center fielder Bryce Johnson, who has been voted the No. 43 prospect in the system. Johnson, a 27-year old switch-hitter, was a sixth-round pick by the Giants back in 2017. He methodically worked his way through the system by being just good enough,

9/04/22 WATCH: SF Giants outfielder Bryce Johnson records his first career MLB hit. Sunday's game between the SF Giants and Philadelphia Phillies is going to be particularly memorable for Giants outfielder Bryce Johnson. The longtime minor leaguer recorded his first career MLB hit in the fourth inning against Phillies starter Ranger Suárez, lining a 0-1 cutter into right field for a single. Giants catcher Austin Wynns was thrown out trying to advance to third on the play, but not before LaMonte Wade Jr. crossed home plate and gave Johnson his first big-league RBI as well.
