12/13/23 Pirates hit with brutal Endy Rodriguez injury update that wipes out his 2024 season. The Pittsburgh Pirates have amassed quite a collection of young talent over the course of their recent rebuild, with one of their more promising prospects being Endy Rodriguez. Rodroguez broke in with the Pirates last season for 57 games, and the hope was that he would become a crucial piece of their lineup in the 2024 campaign. Rodriguez, who was playing winter ball in his native Dominican Republic, suffered an elbow injury while swinging at a pitch during an at-bat, and further tests revealed that he would require surgery on his UCL that will hold him out for the entire 2024 season.

7/16/23 Pirates make massive decisions on top propsects. After starting off hot, the Pittsburgh Pirates have the fourth-worst record in the National League, sitting after their first series following the All-Star break with a 41-52 record, or .441 winning percentage. While the Pirates likely won't resemble a playoff team this season, they may at least be more watchable in the second with the addition of multiple promising prospects. Pittsburgh is calling up prospects Endy Rodriguez and Liover Peguero to join the big-league club after being swept at home by the San Francisco Giants, as first reported by Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

6/26/23 Pirates prospect Quinn Priester is heating up. As the de-facto president of the Quinn Priester bandwagon, I'll be the first to say that he has had a rough stretch of games as of late. Saturday saw the tide turn for Priester however, as he struck out a season high 11 batters helping Indianapolis down Columbus in a 3-1 victory. The Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates lays claim to several of the top prospects in baseball, Priester being one of them, and catcher Endy Rodriguez being another. Priester went on to say that a key to their success was his ability to attack the zone with several different pitches.

5/03/23 Pirates face tough situation with catching depth. Reinforcements are forthcoming for the Pittsburgh Pirates' catching platoon. Fans are chomping at the bit for the call-ups of top overall prospect Endy Rodriguez and 2021 first overall pick Henry Davis, both of whom are exceeding expectations in the minors. For the moment, however, fans are subjected to the duo of primary backstop Austin Hedges, who signed with the Pirates on a one-year deal in the offseason, and backup Jason Delay, both of whom are producing contrasting numbers. Hedges has slashed a mere .143/.250/.168 with no home runs and five RBI in 16 games played.
