For Blue Jays utility man Davis Schneider, one of those came on Tuesday night when he got his first chance to play at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, just a short drive from his hometown of Berlin, New Jersey. Hundreds of friends and family members made the trip to cheer on the 25-year-old, with Berlin just on the other side of the Pennsylvania-Jersey border. “It feels like my MLB debut,” Schneider told Sportsnet's Hazel Mae.

4/04/24 Blue Jays fans are already tired of Schneider seven games into season. Yesterday, the Blue Jays became the first team in modern MLB history to be victimized by a no-hitter and a one-hitter within the first seven games of the season. 4/04/24 The Blue Jays benched Davis Schneider's hot bat then mustered up one hit. The reasons why are troubling. The Blue Jays had a plan and they decided to stick with it. No, we're not talking José Berríos and the asinine decision to remove him from the fourth inning of a scoreless American League wild-card game. After Davis Schneider homered during his first game March 31, his reward the next day was a seat on the bench. There were three or four different ways the Jays could have inserted Schneider into the starting lineup for Wednesday's 8-0 loss in Houston.

4/02/24 Blue Jays finally score against Astros as Schneider wins it on ninth-inning blast. A lack of offensive production sunk last year's promising Blue Jays team and in the early days of the 2024 season, a similar problem was emerging. A day after getting no-hit by the Houston Astros, Toronto was only doing slightly better (eight hits and no runs scored into the ninth inning) until Davis Schneider stunned the home crowd in Texas by hitting a two-out, two-run home run off all-star closer Josh Hader.
