1/05/24 Snake Bytes, 1/5: New Year, New D-backs!. The 26-year-old Allen has yet to find much MLB success, however. The switch-hitting Perdomo has been far less effective against left-hand pitching and the team may be hesitant to start Jordan Lawlar as a platoon bench player, preferring him to develop further in Triple-A Reno and get everyday at-bats.

11/28/23 Jordan Lawlar, 2024 Fantasy Outlook.

First off, here’s what I said when he was called up this year, “Was listening to Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere (Remastered) when I saw the news that Jordan Lawlar was being promoted, and the wind chimes playing in the background were perfectly timed as I spun out, arms outstretched, seeing stars because my equilibrium isn’t that good. Please, blog, may I have some more?

11/26/23 Arizona Diamondbacks Top 10 Prospects For 2024 Fantasy Baseball. Format = Position Player | Age on 4/1/2024 | Highest Level Played | Estimated Time of Arrival    1. SS Jordan Lawlar | 21 | MLB | 2023 The snakes slithered into the World Series on the strength of Corbin Carrol’s fantastic rookie season and some dynamite outings from the starting rotation. Lawlar’s on the books with a chance to repeat Carroll’s rookie of the year feat and establish himself as an everyday player in the top half of a contending lineup. At 6’2” 190 lbs, Lawlar plays plus defense at shortstop and brings plus power and speed on offense. The hit tool was his only question mark, but Lawlar answered that with a midseason surge that landed him in Triple-A, where he slashed .358/.438/.612 with five home runs, three stolen bases and 12 strikeouts in 16 games. He joined the big league club in September but couldn’t keep the hits coming and batted (and slugged) .129 with a 32.4 percent strikeout rate in 14 games. Would’ve been nice to see him help enough to have an obvious job entering 2024, but a couple weeks of 0-fers is no big deal for a guy his age debuting during a pennant race.

9/27/23 After a Slow Double-A Start, Jesuit Product Jordan Lawlar's Time Has Come in MLB. It was the 13th inning of a game between National League playoff contenders, and the tying run was on third base when Jordan Lawlar stepped to the plate. The situation might have intimidated a lot of young players, but the Diamondbacks rookie exuded calm. This was only his 19th big-league plate appearance—and his first of the game—and yet Lawlar wasn't coiled or nervous as he stood at the plate. Facing Cubs right-hander Hayden Wesneski, the righty-batting Lawlar took a first-pitch sweeper low and away for a strike, his eyes apparently more attuned than the umpire's. He laid off a high 97 mph fastball to even the count.

9/09/23 Top Dynasty Keepers – Cole Ragans. If you have been reading this article every week this season, then you know that I am all about finding those diamonds in the rough, especially at this point of the season. So don't be disappointed that I am not featuring players such as Jordan Lawlar or Jasson Dominguez. There is a reason for not featuring them - everyone should know they are top dynasty keepers. They have been top prospects for years and if you play dynasty baseball, then they are not sneaking up on you. Thus, my search for the players who are not only offering value this season but will offer value the next several seasons. The player who falls into that category this week is Cole Ragans, a left-handed pitcher with the Royals. Tough Road to The Show For many, Ragans has come out of nowhere this season. But he is not a player who was drafted in the mid-rounds or lower and worked his up. In fact, Ragans is a former first-round selection of the Texas Rangers, who selected him with the 30th overall pick in the 2016 draft out of North Florida Christian High School. Along the way to the majors, Ragans has had to overcome back-to-back Tommy John surgeries (the first operation failed) in 2018 and 2019 and then had his 2020 disappear thanks to Covid. Overall, Ragans appeared in only 17 games between 2016 and 2020. But Ragans persevered. By 2022 he as pitching for the Rangers at the end of the season and this year he has burst onto the scene with the Royals after they acquired him at the end of June in the Aroldis Chapman trade.
