6/23/25 Top 20 Rangers Prospect Has Been Going Scorched Earth on Double-A Competition. The Texas Rangers have had a pretty average season all things considered, sitting at 38-40 entering Monday with little to no momentum driving them forward. While they are still in the field amongst the American League West competition, they are currently seven games back of the division-leading Houston Astros, so they have hefty gap to close. The good news is that the Rangers have promising prospects to build around for the future if they have to pull the plug on 2025, both at the MLB level and throughout the farm system. 3/03/25 3 Texas Rangers observations: Evan Carter getting badly-needed reps vs. lefties. SURPRISE, Ariz. — The roster thinning has begun. The Texas Rangers reassigned 10 players to minor league camp Monday as part of their first round of roster cuts. Those who are no longer with the major league team include top prospect Sebastian Walcott and 2024 first-round pick Malcolm Moore. Walcott, an 18-year-old shortstop, slashed .500/.500/1.250 with a home run and three doubles in seven Cactus League games. He also recorded a 115.1 mph groundout on Sunday which was hit harder than all but one batted balls the Rangers registered last season. Moore, a catcher from Stanford, went 2 for 4 with a walk and a strikeout but drew rave reviews for his desire to learn from the veteran backstops on

1/27/25 After first minor league taste, Rangers top pick Malcolm Moore is ready for first spring. It's left him ample time to reflect on his first taste of minor league baseball. “It's given me a lot of time to figure out what my hobbies are as well,” Moore said earlier this month at Globe Life Field during the Rangers' prospect minicamp. “I've been out in Arizona,” Moore said, “so the golf is pretty nice out there.”
