3/05/24 Yankees bust doesn't care that he 'rub(bed) people wrong at times'. Josh Donaldson used to be able to back up his brashness with production. By the end of his major-league career, however, his edginess and outspokenness seemed to go far enough that he created some enemies. “For me, Jonny Gomes was one of my guys,” Donaldson told Sean Casey on “The Mayor's Office” podcast Monday. Gomes had a 13-year career as an outfielder who played for seven teams.

1/09/24 Yankees Still Need to Upgrade the Hot Corner. Josh Donaldson, who played 33 games for the Yankees last year, was "upgraded" by a search and find best of IKF (now gone), DJL (capable glove, aging/suspect bat), Peraza (failed), Torres (disaster),and.....(others?).... Some seem to believe, or be suggesting, that DJL plus ____ (fill in the blank with anyone currently on the 40-man roster), sharing duties at the hot corner in 2024, is an "upgrade" over the experiment the Yankees conducted there last year. This is wishful thinking at best. Donaldson did 90% of his damage to our line-up in 2022, not 2023. The Yankees, while rightfully focused on pitching these days, still need great defense, and consistently plus offense, coming from one player

11/28/23 Today in Blue Jays History: The Jays Trade for Donaldson. The Jays made a trade for Josh Donaldson. If you're reading this, you most certainly know about the trade that became official a short time ago between the Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics. Brett Lawrie, Franklin Barreto, Kendall Graveman, and Sean Nolin are heading to the A's, while the Blue Jays receive All-Star third baseman Josh Donaldson in return.

11/25/23 Yankees Potential Free Agent Target: Gio Urshela. It's too late to fully rectify what was a clear mistake in essentially exchanging Urshela for Josh Donaldson after 2021, but bringing the third baseman back on a small-time deal could be helpful in filling the numerous bottom-of-the-roster holes that have sprung up since that unfortunate deal. It's only a little extra help, but history dictates that the Yankees will be able to use what he has to offer, given that Rizzo and LeMahieu probably can't be relied on for a full healthy season at this point, and that any significant trade could very well see Peraza on the move.

11/25/23 Yankees Potential Trade Target: Brendan Donovan. The Yankees' roster has multiple needs to return to contention in 2024, perhaps too many to be addressed on the free agent market alone. The rotation and the outfield need the most immediate reinforcement; however, the Bomber could certainly stand to upgrade their third base and utility options, with both members of the disastrous 2022 trade with the Twins — Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa — no longer with the organization. To that end, the Yankees could contact the Cardinals to inquire on Brendan Donovan's availability. Donovan broke onto the scene with an impressive rookie campaign in 2022, slashing .281/.394/.379 with a 128 wRC+ in 126 games.

11/11/23 Cubs Infielder Reportedly Possible Trade Target For Yankees This Offseason. Cubs Infielder Reportedly Possible Trade Target For Yankees This Offseason New York could look to link up with the Cubs this offseason in a possible trade Author: Patrick McAvoy Publish date: Nov 11, 2023 12:10 PM EST In this story: New York Yankees Chicago Cubs The New York Yankees could use an upgrade at third base and it sounds like the Chicago Cubs could be a solid trade partner. New York had one of the worst offenses in baseball last season and specifically didn't get much out of the third base spot. Josh Donaldson struggled and New York has a lot of young guys on the roster attempting to adjust to the big leagues. One player who could end up being a trade target for the Yankees this

10/18/23 Yankees fans can hate-buy (30% off!) jersey of player they couldn't wait to get rid of. While New York Yankees fans are missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 2016, at least their team finally booted veteran bust Josh Donaldson ... right? While Donaldson ultimately got a crack at the postseason — with the Milwaukee Brewers — he really didn't do much to help them: .190 average, .690 OPS with three home runs and 10 RBI in the regular season and two hits in seven at bats in the playoffs. This came after a failed Yankees campaign in which Donaldson played 165 games over two seasons and batted .207 with a .678 OPS and 25 home runs.

The National League's other wild-card series matches the Miami Marlins and the Phillies in Philadelphia. In the American League, the wild-card series starting on Tuesday feature the Texas Rangers at the Tampa Bay Rays and the Toronto Blue Jays at the Minnesota Twins. 9/27/23 Teammate Reveals How Ex-Yankee Arrogantly Joined Brewers. Sign In Josh Donaldson apparently didn't establish himself as a good teammate upon joining the Brewers. Quite the contrary, in fact. Donaldson signed a minor-league deal with Milwaukee in late August after a dreadful five months with the New York Yankees. The 2015 American League MVP eventually was called up to the big leagues Sept. 11, which facilitated a reunion with former Toronto Blue Jays teammate Rowdy Tellez. Tellez spoke about reuniting with Donaldson on a recent episode of the “Foul Territory” podcast. According to the veteran first baseman, the three-time All-Star's first impression in the Brewers clubhouse was highlighted by smugness. Story continues below advertisement Live Odds Final

9/23/23 Brewers ride 12-run inning to victory, punch MLB playoff ticket. The Milwaukee Brewers rode a massive 12-run second inning to a 16-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Friday that clinched a Major League Baseball playoff berth. All nine Brewers batters posted hits in the second inning, with Josh Donaldson hitting a two-run homer and Christian Yelich belting the first of his two homers of the game. Yelich, who missed 12 of the previous 13 games with a sore back, also homered in the sixth inning, delivering three hits, reaching base four times and scoring four runs. With Steven Okert pitching for Miami, Willy Adames walked to open the second. Adames scored on Donald's homer to left field. After Brice Turang struck out, Blake Perkins drew a walk to start a string

9/22/23 Brewers score 12 runs in one inning, crush Marlins 16-1. Josh Donaldson and Christian Yelich homered as part of a 12-run second inning as the visiting Milwaukee Brewers routed the Miami Marlins 16-1 on Friday night and clinched a playoff berth. The Brewers' second inning featured nine hits, three walks and one steal. It was the second-biggest frame inBrewers history, topped only by a 13-run fifth inning against the Angels on July 8, 1990. Yelich, who returned from a back injury and played just his second game since Sept. 9, went 3-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs for the Brewers (88-66), who are closing in on their third National League Central title in the past six years.

9/21/23 Brewers rout Cards to get pennant in reach. The Milwaukee Brewers muscled up to bury the St. Louis Cardinals 8-2 Wednesday night at Busch Stadium and the National League Central Division title is becoming a when, not an if. With the Pittsburgh Pirates rocking the Chicago Cubs 13-7 at Wrigley Field, Milwaukee's lead over the second place Cubs is a comfortable seven games with only ten to play. The Brewers magic number to clinch the division is down to four. Newcomer Josh Donaldson lit the fuse for Milwaukee in game three of the series with a three run blast in the top of the first inning. Brewer starter Adrian Houser gave one back in the bottom half but then settled in for another quality start, working six innings, giving up the one run

Josh Donaldson hit a three-run homer in the first inning, Tyrone Taylor homered twice and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-2 to take another step toward their second NL Central title in three years. Mark Canha hit a three-run double in the ninth inning for Milwaukee, which began the night six games ahead of the second-place Chicago Cubs. Canha gas 30 RBIs in 42 games with the Brewers.
