7/11/25 | Insider: Braves make final decision on future of star $38M pitcher. The Atlanta Braves have pulled starting pitcher Chris Sale off the trade block. The Braves are struggling and are expected to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline. One of the names that has been rumoured as a potential trade is Sale, but Major League Baseball insider Robert Murray says Atlanta is pulling Sale off the trade block and has no intention to trade him. 7/10/25 | Report: Braves not considering moving ex-Red Sox ace at trade deadline. There will likely be plenty of teams in search of starting pitching at the trade deadline as they look to make a postseason run. The Atlanta Braves have no intention of moving Chris Sale at the July 31 deadline, Fansided's Robert Murray reported on Thursday. The Braves acquired the left-hander from the Boston Red Sox in December 2023 and he's had a career resurgence. Sale went 18-3 with a 2.38 ERA and 225 strikeouts en route to his first career Cy Young in 2024. Source: https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2025/07/braves-not... |
7/06/25 | Could We See Another Atlanta Braves-A's Swap at the Trade Deadline?. The Atlanta Braves are dealing with a number of injuries yet again this season, currently lacking Chris Sale and Reynaldo Lopez, who are on the 60-day IL, along with Spencer Schwellenbach, who is on the 15-day. In addition, they're set to be without AJ Smith-Shawver for much of next year after the 22-year-old needed Tommy John surgery last month. The Athletics have been a familiar trade partner for the Braves in recent years, and if we're being honest, Atlanta has done very well for themselves in both deals. 7/05/25 | Braves trade idea brings $67 million 2-time All-Star to Atlanta. The Atlanta Braves have not met expectations this season. The team is without Chris Sale, but is still trying to salvage its season and make the postseason. The Braves are eight games out of a wild card spot, and their postseason chances are slim. FanSided's Mitchell Barbee suggested the Braves trade for Luis Severino of the Athletics. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/mlb/atlanta-braves... |
7/02/25 | MLB Trade Rumors: Atlanta Braves Could Deal Star DH Marcell Ozuna To Texas Rangers. This has been an extremely disappointing season for the Atlanta Braves, who opened up the 2025 season with World Series aspirations. Currently, the Braves sit in fourth place in the National League East behind the Miami Marlins. If things continue going as they are, the Braves could end up being sellers before the MLB trade deadline. It looks unlikely they will turn things around now that their reigning Cy Young pitcher, Chris Sale, has been moved to the IL with a rib injury, and SP Reynaldo Lopez is still sidelined as well with a shoulder injury. 7/02/25 | Braves urged to dump $81 million 3x All-Star in deadline blockbuster. Things have gone from bad to worse to catastrophic for the Atlanta Braves. After yet another loss on Tuesday night, the Braves have fallen to 38-46, which means they now trail the Miami Marlins for third place in the National League East. It's becoming a disastrous season, and they may have no choice but to soft sell at the trade deadline. No, that doesn't mean the Braves should trade ace Chris Sale, who is under contract for 2026, when Atlanta could easily rebound. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/atlanta-braves... |
7/01/25 | Braves Trade with Pirates, Bad News for Chris Sale. The Atlanta Braves add more right-handed pitching depth to the system. In a corresponding move, the Braves have moved left-hander Chris Sale to the 60-day injured list to open a spot on the 40-man roster. The update on Sale is an unfortunate one for the Braves, but an unsurprising update nonetheless. Sale went on the 15-day IL on June 21, retroactive to June 19. 6/30/25 | Braves desperate trade idea lands starting pitcher from division rival. The Atlanta Braves are eight games back of a wild card spot entering play on Monday. "(We) want to be in a position to add at the trade deadline." It will take a drastic turnaround for the Braves to put themselves in the postseason. With Chris Sale now on the injured list with a rib injury, the path to the postseason has gotten even tougher. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/atlanta-braves... |
6/27/25 | Braves' Marcell Ozuna gets updated trade deadline prediction from MLB writer. Things are simply not looking good for the 2025 Atlanta Braves. Entering play on Friday, the Braves sit seven games out of a playoff spot at 37-43. Ronald Acuña Jr. is their only star living up to expectations at the plate, and they lost superstar pitcher Chris Sale to the injured list indefinitely over the weekend. Braves president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos has been vocal about not wanting to sell at the trade deadline. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/atlanta-braves... |
6/25/25 | Padres Named Top Landing Spot for Cy Young Winner From NL Rival in Potential Blockbuster Trade. The San Diego Padres are linked to potentially the best starting pitcher option at the trade deadline. If the Atlanta Braves make left-handed starting pitcher Chris Sale available, the Padres are one of four contending teams linked to the reigning National League Cy Young winner, per Yahoo Sports. In addition to winning the Cy Young award last season, Sale was the NL Comeback Player of the Year. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/padres/san-diego-padres-new... |
6/24/25 | Why MLB insider thinks ex-Red Sox ace is future Hall of Famer. Chris Sale has rejuvenated his career with the Atlanta Braves after a 2023 trade from the Boston Red Sox. The hard-throwing lefty helped the Red Sox to a World Series in 2018 but then was riddled with injuries for the remainder of his time in Boston. Despite the injuries and the fact he's thrown fewer innings than likely Hall of Famer's Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, one MLB insider firmly believes Sale should be in that conversation, too. 6/23/25 | MLB Insider Says Former Red Sox Star 'Clearly' Belongs In Hall of Fame. A somewhat contentious Hall of Fame debate seems obvious to one prominent MLB insider. Injuries muddied much of Chris Sale's time with the Boston Red Sox, but the Atlanta Braves ace reignited the Cooperstown conversation by winning his first career Cy Young Award last season. While he sports an elite 3.02 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 30.6 strikeout percentage over his career, the 36-year-old has worked far fewer innings (2,047 2/3) than likely locks Clayton Kershaw, Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. 6/23/25 | Braves Report: We meet again, Mets. The combination of Chris Sale's cracked rib cage and a flop of a series against the Fish is enough to make even the most optimistic Braves fan waver. Maybe a trip to Queens and a rematch with the (still very good but currently misery-bound) Mets is just what the doctor ordered. Source: https://www.ajc.com/sports/2025/06/braves-report-w... |

The Atlanta Braves placed reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale on the 15-day injured list Saturday because of a fractured left rib cage. “He was doing his exercises (Friday) and felt like something wasn’t right,” manager Brian Snitker said before the Braves' game Saturday against the Miami Marlins. In his previous start, against the New York Mets on Wednesday, Sale sprinted off the mound and made a diving stop of a grounder hit by Juan Soto and threw him out for the first out in the ninth. 6/20/25 | How A Strong Braves Defense Feeds into Starting Pitching Success. The at-times struggling Atlanta Braves have had one area of their game consistently providing a top-notch performance. What goes unnoticed is to the extend it benefits the starting rotation. Starting pitcher Chris Sale explained the deepest aspect of it when he joined 680 The Fan for a chat on Thursday. In his Wednesday start, he got within an out of a complete game and attributed strong defense for allowing him to get as deep into the game as he did. 6/20/25 | Braves Sale Praises Acuña's Push to Maximize Talent. Ronald Acuña Jr. needs little introduction at this point. He's an MVP winner who is back to that former and arguably back better than ever. When Atlanta Braves starter Chris Sale joined 680 The Fan on Thursday to talk about the season and his own recent big night, he said how special it was to have an Acuña on the staff. "He's a true one of one," Sale said on 680 The Fan's Cellini & Dimino . Sale took his thoughts on Acuña step further to emphasize a key trait of the 2023 National League MVP. He doens't just have the talent. He making them most of every ounce of the talent he possesses. "I do appreciate talent. I appreciate not wasting it too," Sale said.
