12/20/24 What is Yankees plan for struggling $90 million former batting champ?. The New York Yankees have to figure out how they plan to fill the holes around their infield – and how they will use two-time batting champion DJ LeMahieu, who is coming off the worst season of his career. General manager Brian Cashman said LeMahieu, who turns 37 in July, remains in their plans. A natural second baseman, he has filled in at first and third base. LeMahieu, who has won the batting title in both the American and National League, played just 67 games in 2024 because of injuries.

11/09/24 Yankees blockbuster trade prediction lands Cardinals $260 million star. As the hot stove heats up this offseason, the New York Yankees are expected to be an aggressive team throughout the winter. Adding to the third base position is a massive need for New York considering the decline of DJ LeMahieu and the likelihood of Jazz Chisholm moving back to second base. How the Yankees will go about improving the hot corner remains to be seen, but they could target the St. Louis Cardinals in a potential deal given the direction the latter club is heading. As such, Jacob Mounts of FanSided made a bold prediction that the Yankees and Cardinals will get a blockbuster deal done that sends superstar third baseman Nolan Arenado to The Bronx.

10/24/24 LeMahieu, Feduccia Seek to Enhance LSU's World Series Legacy. BATON ROUGE, La. – Infielder DJ LeMahieu of the New York Yankees and catcher Hunter Feduccia of the Los Angeles Dodgers have the opportunity to enhance LSU's World Series legacy as Game 1 of the Fall Classic opens at 7 p.m. CT Friday in Dodger Stadium. LeMahieu and Feduccia are each seeking to become the 17th former Tiger to earn a World Series ring. All of the World Series games will be televised by FOX. Though LeMahieu and Feduccia may not be assigned to their respective teams' 26-man World Series rosters, they would still qualify for a championship ring since each played in MLB games this season. Sixteen former LSU Tigers have played for, or managed, World Series championship teams on 21 occasions,

9/27/24 Yankees veteran striving to be ready for return from injury in October. DJ LeMahieu was feeling encouraged while speaking to reporters in front of his locker in the Yankees' clubhouse on Friday afternoon. This isn't a scenario where he'd be guaranteed a spot if he can recuperate in time for Game 1 of the American League Division Series next weekend. The Yankees have already clinched a division title — securing a first-round bye — they're playing good baseball and have a surplus of infielders. It starts with baseball activities over these next few days, including some running and a game of catch on the outfield grass on Friday.
