3/21/24 Ex-Mets infielder has decision to make. Last month, Eduardo Escobar signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays and he's spent the spring trying to earn a spot in the crowded Toronto infield. Free agents on minor league deals who have at least six years of MLB service and finished the previous season on a major league deal can opt out at three points during the season if they have not been added to the 40-man roster: five days before Opening Day, May 1 and June 1. Escobar is hitting .122 with one home run and seven RBI in 41 spring training at-bats.

3/09/24 MLB roundup: Blue Jays erupt for 8-run ninth, clobber Phillies. Will Robertson ripped a grand slam as part of an eight-run ninth that the visiting Toronto Blue Jays used to pummel the Philadelphia Phillies 13-5 on Saturday in Clearwater, Fla. Eduardo Escobar had a two-run double and Payton Henry added a two-run homer as part of the Blue Jays' big ninth, which turned a tie game into a blowout.

The Toronto Blue Jays reached a deal with veteran infielder Eduardo Escobar on Thursday night, The Post's Jon Heyman confirmed . The club has not confirmed the deal. 11/04/23 First Angels trade deadline deal of the summer is one of their worst. One player the Angels acquired in an attempt to counteract their injury woes was Eduardo Escobar. With Anthony Rendon, Zach Neto, and Gio Urshela all injured, the Angels desperately needed infield depth to avoid having to play the likes of Kevin Padlo every day. Perry Minasian was ultra-aggressive trading for Escobar more than one month before the trade deadline.

10/17/23 Eduardo Escobar's abridged 2023 season with the Mets was one to forget. Eduardo Escobar was one of the many Mets who began the season in Queens but ended it elsewhere. Traded at the end of June, more than a month before the deadline, he had an abridged second season with the Mets, and he didn't quite impress in that short sample. Before the season began, there was talk about Escobar potentially losing his job to Brett Baty, one of the Mets' top prospects who had debuted in 2022 and seemed primed for an extended run to hopefully establish himself as the Mets' third baseman of the future. Escobar took it in stride, and welcomed Baty, but in the end Baty started the season in Syracuse and the Mets took Escobar to Queens to man third base to start the regular season.

8/26/23 Eduardo Escobar returns to Citi Field after trade to Angels: ‘I respect the decision they made’. Eduardo Escobar is back in Queens with the Los Angeles Angels and he’s as happy as ever. Happy is the default setting for the former Mets third baseman. Escobar has always maintained an upbeat attitude and was a favorite in the clubhouse during his tenure with the Mets. Even when the club called up top prospect Brett Baty to supplant the struggling Escobar in the lineup in April, the veteran ...

8/20/23 Angels rumors: Landing Mets superstar slugger would be a dream, but doesn't make sense for either side. The New York Mets are a team to watch this offseason. The Los Angeles Angels made two trades with the Mets acquiring Eduardo Escobar and Dominic Leone from Billy Eppler's squad, and there could be another one on the horizon. New York reportedly made slugging first baseman Pete Alonso available at the trade deadline. Alonso is under team control through the 2024 season and with the Mets potentially not going all in for 2024, they're open to the possibility of moving him for the right price.
