8/18/25 Royals Should Target Mariners Former All-Star To Bolster Offense For 2026. The Kansas City Royals may be coming alive at the right time. At the trade deadline, they were expected to be sellers, but chose to add instead, bringing aboard veterans Randal Grichuk, Mike Yastrzemski and Adam Frazier to beef up their offense. On Jim Bowden of The Athletic's top 25 impending free agents list was new Seattle Mariners slugger and former All-Star Josh Naylor.

8/07/25 Royals Writer Praises Team For Pickup Of 33-Year-Old Veteran Outfielder. The Kansas City Royals were buyers at the trade deadline this summer. The offense had been their achilles heel leading up to the trade deadline. One of the bats they picked up was veteran outfielder Randal Grichuk. Jacob Milham of FanSided gave a brief rundown of all the Royals trade acquisitions at the deadline, and he praised the team for going out and acquiring Grichuk, even though he has struggled out of the gate with Kansas City.

8/06/25 Sellout crowd watches Red Sox extend win streak to seven behind another stellar Garrett Crochet outing. Crochet (13-4) was sharp after nine days off, allowing two runs on four hits, walking one, and striking out eight. The lefthander took a two-run lead into the seventh inning and allowed an RBI double by Randal Grichuk. Crochet then fell behind Nick Loftin, missing twice with his cutter. As the sellout crowd of 37,013 became anxious, Crochet came back to strike out Loftin swinging at a sweeper.

7/31/25 Royals Could Target $2.1 Million Outfielder From Twins To Boost Lineup. The Kansas City Royals looked like surefire sellers at the trade deadline earlier this month. Late on Saturday, they acquired slugger Randal Grichuk from the Arizona Diamondbacks to boost their lineup. While they appear to have shifted their focus to pitching with several rotation arms on the shelf, there are still ways they can upgrade their offense. The pitching staff has carried its weight this season, but the offense has let them down for much of the year.

7/31/25 Royals Insider Reveals KC's Changing Goals As Trade Deadline Arrives. Trade deadline day is one of the most exciting days not only in Major League Baseball, but the entire professional sports calendar. The Royals are down, but they're far from out. At 54-55, they sit just three games out of a potential Wild Card spot, and they've already proven by trading for Randal Grichuk and extending Seth Lugo that selling isn't an option they're considering. On Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com revealed that the Royals now seek pitching more than hitting thanks in large part to the Kris Bubic injury, though their low-powered offense could certainly still use another big bat.
