2/14/25 Bo Bichette opens up on Blue Jays contract talks before 2025 season. As the Toronto Blue Jays get ready for the 2025 season, shortstop Bo Bichette has confirmed that he and the organization have not engaged in any contract extension discussions. With just one year left on his three-year, $33.6 million deal, Bichette is staring down free agency unless a new deal is reached. Speaking to reporters at spring training in Dunedin, Florida, Bichette clarified that no discussions have taken place yet. “No, We haven't had any talks, but from my perspective, we all grow up wanting to be one of those guys that has an opportunity to stay with an organization for their entire career,” Bichette said, per MLB.com's Keegan Matheson.

2/13/25 Toronto Blue Jays Valuable Bullpen Piece Nursing 'Forearm Fatigue' at Start of Camp. The Toronto Blue Jays finished last in the American League East at 74-88 a year ago. Now, when you have a record like that, multiple things have to go wrong: Bo Bichette was injured and ineffective, George Springer struggled, and the bullpen produced one of the worst units in the sport. If Toronto is going to turn it around this season, they'll need each of those things to be better, which is why the news coming out of camp on reliever Erik Swanson is concerning.

2/03/25 Toronto Blue Jays Projected to Make Massive Improvement in 2025. After finishing last in the American League East in 2024, the Toronto Blue Jays are projected to make a massive improvement in 2025. The PECOTA projections from Baseball Prospectus were released on Monday and they have the Jays at 84.5 wins this year. At nearly 50 percent total playoff odds, the Jays are a in better spot than several others see them. The positive projections must be banking on a healthy year from Bo Bichette, who played just 82 disappointing games last year.

1/23/25 Toronto Blue Jays' Bo Bichette Misses Cut on MLB Network's List of Top 10 Shortstops. Bo Bichette has been considered one of the best shortstops in baseball for most of the 2020s, but the Toronto Blue Jays infielder is apparently losing his grip on that distinction heading into 2025. MLB Network continued its annual "Top 10 Players Right Now" series on Wednesday, moving on to shortstops. Past performance, advanced metrics, traditional stats and input from the MLB Network research team were all taken into account, and it was Baltimore Orioles star Gunnar Henderson who claimed the top spot. Coming in behind Henderson was Corey Seager, followed by Francisco Lindor, Bobby Witt Jr. and Mookie Betts, who made the move from right field.
