7/08/25 Former Astros All-Star Set Up for Massive Pay Day in Free Agency. The Houston Astros knew they had their work cut out for them to retain third baseman Alex Bregman in free agency last winter. When offers that large weren't presented to him, there was some hope that he would come back to the Astros. Instead, he decided to sign a three-year, $120 million deal with the Boston Red Sox that includes opt-outs after the first two years. There are a lot of things working in Bregman's favor, such as the Rafael Devers trade saga, clearing the way for him to be the clear-cut option at third base.

7/08/25 Red Sox 3B Bregman 'trending' to return this week. Boston veteran Alex Bregman, a 31-year-old third baseman who has been sidelined since May 24 with a strained right quad, believes he'll be able to skip a minor-league rehab assignment and be back in the Red Sox lineup before the All-Star break.

7/07/25 These 2 breakout Red Sox deserved better in the AL All-Star race. Alex Bregman, Aroldis Chapman and Garrett Crochet will represent the Boston Red Sox at this year's All-Star Game — all three of the 2024-25 offseason additions quickly found their footing in Boston and are well deserving of their selections. But two other Red Sox should have joined them on the American League roster.

7/07/25 Red Sox's Biggest All-Star Snub Was More Deserving Than Julio Rodríguez. The Boston Red Sox have three American League All-Stars this year, which isn't a bad ratio for a team only one game over .500. Third baseman Alex Bregman, starting pitcher Garrett Crochet, and closer Aroldis Chapman all earned the nod to head to Atlanta for the Midsummer Classic on Jul. 15. If things were done purely based on merit, though, center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela should have joined them.
