5/20/25 | Rays Walk Off Astros To Even Series. The Tampa Bay Rays (22-26) defeated the Houston Astros (25-23) 3-2 on Tuesday night at Steinbrenner Field to even the three-game series at one-game apiece. The Astros took an early 2-0 lead thanks to a Jake Meyers RBI double in the second and a solo homer from former Ray Isaac Parades in the third. The score would remain 2-0 until the eighth inning, when Jonathan Aranda had a two-run single to tie the game. Then in the ninth inning, the Rays got the win thanks to a sacrifice fly from Taylor Walls. Zack Littell got the start and allowed two earned runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking one. Manny Rodriguez got the win out of the bullpen after working a scoreless ninth inning. Jake Meyers hit a go-ahead home run, and Josh Hader stranded a runner on third in the ninth inning to preserve the Houston Astros' 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night. Chandler Simpson reached on catcher's interference to begin the ninth against Hader. Simpson advanced on a ground out before stealing third. With the win, Houston is 17-15 and in second place in the American League West. Chicago fell to 9-24 and they remain in last place in the American League Central.
