5/22/25 Red Sox Infielder Could Be On His Way Out Of Boston. The Boston Red Sox have had questions about the second base position for years, but that seemingly was answered last year. Boston traded starting pitcher Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves for infielder Vaughn Grissom and initially it seemed like he had a chance to be the team's second baseman of the future. At the time, Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, and Kyle Teel -- before he was traded -- were the team's top prospects before Kristian Campbell's meteoric rise. Grissom seemed like he was going to be another guy to add to the core, but an illness in Spring Training slowed him down and then he wasn't fully healthy throughout the campaign.

5/20/25 Braves have two players leading the NL Rookie of the Year race. The Atlanta Braves have the best of both worlds. Established veterans in their prime, like reigning National League Cy Young winner Chris Sale, highlight a roster ready to win now. The Braves also have young guys who can lead Atlanta into the future once Sale and others ride off into the sunset. Whenever a team has a rookie who looks like a future star, it feels like hitting the jackpot, so Braves front office members ought to buy a lottery ticket because they've managed to hit the jackpot twice.

5/19/25 Insider's Red Sox-Astros Trade Proposition Would Enrage Both Fan Bases. Every Major League Baseball fan base wants to see their team make aggressive trades, but they rarely want to part ways with any of their star players. It's a lesson the Boston Red Sox have learned over the last few seasons when they've been burned on trades like the Chris Sale deal with the Atlanta Braves or the Luis Garcia deal with the Los Angeles Angels. What we haven't seen the Red Sox do, however, is trade certified major league talent for another team's big-leaguers. One insider thinks there's a way that could change in 2025, and it involves making a deal with a frequent Boston tormentor, the Houston Astros.

5/17/25 Braves' Chris Sale Sends Message After Dominating Red Sox In Fenway Park Return. If it ever seems as if the Chris Sale trade has already inflicted the maximum amount of possible pain on the Boston Red Sox, it's best to recalculate. Sale was traded from the Red Sox to the Atlanta Braves for infielder Vaughn Grissom before the 2024 season, and immediately went on to win the Cy Young Award for the first time in his career at age 35.
